Rud, a Hero's Party tank, is reputed to possess the strongest defensive in history. Although the group conducts labyrinth raids frequently, Rud interprets them as something more. He is searching for the wish-granting treasure that might be concealed in those labyrinths in order to heal his beloved sister's ailment. However, one day following a botched raid attempt, the conceited hero banishes him from the group, attributing it to his abilities—the consequences of which he is still ignorant of. He chooses to go back to his hometown, where his sister is waiting, as he has nowhere else to go and nothing to do. He stops a monster from attacking a girl while traveling there. Surprisingly, this girl possesses the incredibly uncommon skill of "Appraisal". Rud is able to learn the truth about his previously unidentified talents—which turn out to be incredibly potent abilities—thanks to her skill. The journey of Rud, the strongest tank, begins with a defense of 9999 and strong skills!
